The Eagles star is still up in the air.
Jason Kelce recently discussed his NFL future in a podcast interview, revealing that he’s still weighing his options and considering various opportunities outside of football. Despite reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggesting Kelce’s retirement after the Eagles’ playoff loss in January, the center has yet to make an official announcement.
During an appearance on the ‘Superfly’ podcast with Dana Carvey and David Spade, Kelce admitted that he’s uncertain about his future in the NFL.
“I’m trying to figure it out right now. Right now, exploring different opportunities if I end up retiring,” Kelce said. “Still working out and staying in shape if I end up playing again.”
Kelce, who co-hosts the popular ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother Travis, reportedly met with TV executives during Super Bowl week in Las Vegas, discussing potential opportunities with networks like Fox and ESPN.
Despite considering retirement, Kelce emphasized his love for the game and the difficulty of walking away from it.
“It’s really hard to not want to continue doing this,” he said. “The game continues to be difficult to play – selfishly, physically. It’s a grueling sport… but it’s hard. It’s really hard.”
Kelce, a father of three, previously contemplated retirement at the end of last season, as documented in the Amazon Prime series ‘Kelce.’ He also gained experience in broadcasting, filling in on Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football coverage during the Eagles’ bye week this season.
As Kelce continues to deliberate his future, fans eagerly await his decision on whether he’ll continue his NFL career or pursue other opportunities beyond the field.
