The Eagles’ downward spiral persists, and this season appears to be slipping away.
In the first half of the Eagles-Seahawks game on Monday night, All-Pro center Jason Kelce incurred a false start penalty that proved costly for his team, denying them a touchdown opportunity on that drive.

The issue on that specific play arose from Kelce moving the ball forward before it was officially spotted.
Following the Eagles’ surprising loss to the Seahawks, Kelce admitted that referees had cautioned him about this tendency to move the ball prematurely before snapping it.
“They’ve been warning me of that for years,” Kelce acknowledged, as reported by Pro Football Talk. “I had a tendency to do that in the past, so they’ve definitely warned me before. I’ve got to be smarter, especially in that situation.”
Interestingly, Kelce believes he might have escaped notice for this action if the Eagles were not in a short-yardage situation.
“I think if that’s a full yard to gain, probably not as much, but because it was so short, if I move it forward at all it’s going to be called, and I’ve just got to be smarter than that.”
It’s likely that Kelce will be extra cautious to avoid repeating this mistake. The Eagles aim to break their three-game losing streak on Christmas Day when they take on the Giants.
