Jason Kelce took to his podcast to deny any claims of being drunk during his wild pregame antics at the Philadelphia Eagles’ Monday Night Football game, where he was seen dancing and throwing beers into the crowd. The retired Eagles center addressed the situation on the “New Heights” podcast he co-hosts with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, just days after his energetic appearance at Lincoln Financial Field.
The playful back-and-forth began when Travis teased Jason about his behavior during the game. “I could tell, by the way, you were talking in the third quarter in the booth that you had been on an up-and-down roller coaster of being in and out of being drunk since about noon,” Travis joked. Jason, 36, quickly interrupted, denying the claim with a laugh. “Zero beers,” he said, referring to his pregame activities, before sheepishly acknowledging that he had indeed been tossing beers to fans in the crowd.
Despite the fun-filled atmosphere, Jason clarified that while he was handing out beers, he didn’t partake in any himself. “I probably threw about 100 beers,” he admitted, “but I didn’t drink one.” He then humorously added, “Do you know how hard that was? I’m a professional, Travis. I don’t mess around.”

Travis, always quick with a quip, couldn’t resist ribbing his brother further, commenting on the fact that Jason was throwing “full beers” to the crowd, calling it “dangerous” and joking that it could “might as well be assault.” Jason defended himself, saying he carefully ensured safety by making eye contact with fans before throwing the beers and using koozies to soften the impact.
As the conversation turned to Jason’s now-viral dance moves, Travis erupted into laughter, calling his older brother a “f–king idiot” while also expressing his admiration for Jason’s unexpected flair. “Everyone thinks I’m the dancer, but dude, you are the f–king most electric dancer I’ve ever met in my life,” Travis said, clearly amused. “You can put a smile on anybody’s face by dancing.”
Jason, however, wasn’t as proud of his performance. “It wasn’t my best running man,” he admitted, explaining that he found himself in a slightly awkward position during the pregame festivities. Jason revealed that he ended up on stage about 30 minutes earlier than expected and, with nothing else to do, decided to bust a move with the DJs. “I had to kill time before the show started, and I’m just standing there like, ‘I gotta do something.’”
While his impromptu dance entertained fans, it also earned him a bit of humility. “Do you know how devastating it is to open X and just see a bunch of people quoting tweets of you dancing and putting clown emojis above you?” he asked, clearly still processing the internet’s reaction.
Travis, though, remained his brother’s biggest cheerleader, between giggles, saying, “I’m so proud. When you go full-send, oh my gosh, thank you for that. I’ll have that forever.”
The moment even caught the attention of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who poked fun at Jason’s dance moves on social media. Jason took it in stride, remarking that Mahomes had seen those moves before. “This is why ESPN hired you,” Travis joked. “These moves cannot be reenacted by anybody else.”
Monday’s game marked the first Eagles matchup Jason had attended since retiring from the NFL in March after a decorated 13-season career.
His presence at the game, along with his spirited celebration, reminded everyone why he remains such a beloved figure in Philadelphia—on and off the field.
Though his football days are behind him, Jason Kelce proved he can still steal the show with his humor, energy, and, yes, his dance moves.
