On Tuesday, July 30, the retired NFL player, 36, showcased his latest 2024 Paris Olympics outfit. This ensemble is a heartfelt tribute to the United States women’s rugby team and, more specifically, star player Ilona Maher.
In a photo shared by his and brother Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights’ X account (formerly known as Twitter), Jason is seen wearing a button-up shirt that is a vibrant display of red, white, and blue. The shirt, however, has an eccentric twist—it is covered entirely with Maher’s face.
Interspersed with stars and stripes, the shirt features numerous cutouts of the 27-year-old rugby star’s face, creating one of Jason’s most intriguing ensembles to date. This outfit firmly establishes him as the number one fan of the team and Ilona Maher. “Jason’s Olympic fits just get better and better,” the X post reads.
Jason paired the striking shirt with athletic shorts and a “USA” baseball cap, adding to his patriotic look. This follows his memorable visit to the players’ locker room on Sunday, July 28, after their victory against Brazil, where Maher suggested he should become the team’s official “superfan.”

In a video Maher shared on TikTok, she is heard telling the retired athlete, “Women’s water polo has Flavor Flav as their superfan, and you are a girl dad. Do you get anything from being our superfan? No. There’s no reward, no money, no benefits, I don’t think I can get you free stuff,” she continued, as Jason joked, “You’re a great salesman.”
The NFL alum then proudly declared his “superfan” status, saying to the camera, “I am officially a fan of women’s rugby, Olympics.” Maher responded with excitement, yelling, “We got Jason Kelce!” Her declaration was met with enthusiastic cheers from the rest of her team.
Jason’s commitment to his new superfan role was also evident in his fashion choices.
Embracing the Parisian setting of the 2024 Olympics, he sported a beret, which he first debuted during a surprise appearance at Team USA’s women’s field hockey match with his wife, Kylie Kelce, the day before, on Saturday, July 27. He paired the blue beret with a matching blue USA sweatshirt, while Kylie kept things patriotic in a white jacket adorned with red and blue striped details.
Jason’s pre-Olympic style moments have been equally notable. Earlier this year, he donned a Kansas City Chiefs-colored luchador wrestling mask and overalls combo to celebrate his brother Travis’s Super Bowl win. His controversial year-round choice to wear sandals, much to Travis’s disapproval, has also been a talking point.
On a June episode of New Heights, Travis humorously jabbed at Jason’s style, calling his brother a “neanderthal that wears flip-flops in the winter and doesn’t even care what he looks like.”
