Jason Kelce became emotional as he reminisced about the first time he met his wife, Kylie Kelce, during his retirement announcement from the NFL on Monday.
Bringing his illustrious 13-year career to a close, the Philadelphia Eagles center reflected on the pivotal moment that kickstarted their love story.
Recalling the Eagles’ Christmas party in 2014, Jason, 36, recounted the evening when his life took a significant turn. “That night, I’d meet my future wife. I still remember the moment she walked through the door,” he shared, his voice tinged with emotion.
Tears welled up as Jason described the indelible memory of Kylie’s entrance into the bar. “It was like she glided through the opening, an aura around her. Then she started talking and I thought, ‘Man, is this what love feels like?’” he fondly remembered of Kylie. “She was beautiful and smart, serious yet playful. I knew it right away.”
Their love story, revealed in their Prime Video documentary “Kelce” in September 2023, showcased how they initially connected on a dating app. Kylie candidly admitted, “We met on Tinder,” while Jason, ensuring accuracy, emphasized their online encounter.

Although Kylie initially didn’t recognize Jason due to his omission of football-related photos, she eventually realized his identity, leading to their first in-person meeting at a bar. For Jason, it was an instant connection, describing Kylie’s arrival as “very much like love at first sight.”
Expressing gratitude for Kylie’s unwavering support throughout his career, Jason emphasized her integral role in his success. “Every accolade I have ever received has come with her in my life,” he acknowledged. “She has brought the best out of me through love, devotion, support, honesty, intelligence, and of course, a swift kick in the ass from time to time.”
Praising Kylie for their three daughters and the fulfilling life they’ve built together, Jason underscored the significance of her presence off the field. The couple tied the knot in Philadelphia in April 2018 and welcomed their daughters Wyatt Elizabeth, 3, on Oct. 2, 2019, Elliotte Ray on March 4, 2021, and Bennett Llewellyn on Feb. 23, 2023.
