Jason Kelce recently opened up about the challenges of dealing with the intense level of fame surrounding his brother Travis Kelce’s relationship with global pop sensation Taylor Swift. In a candid interview on the “94WIP Morning Show” with co-hosts Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie, the retired Philadelphia Eagles center admitted that Swift’s fame can be “overwhelming” at times, especially now that she’s become a prominent figure in his life due to her romance with Travis.
“It’s a lot,” Jason said when asked about constantly being surrounded by cameras and attention. “There’s a lot of people paying attention at all times, which is positive and negative at times.” He acknowledged that maintaining privacy and trying to live a normal life can be difficult, given the media frenzy that follows Swift wherever she goes.
Despite the challenges, Jason also recognized the positive side of Swift’s immense popularity. “I think she’s built up such a fan base and an amount of people that really, really just love her, and it’s really cool at the same time,” he added, reflecting on the singer’s dedicated followers.
The former NFL player joked that he and his brother, despite being high-profile athletes, don’t receive nearly as much attention as Swift. “We’re professional football players, but we’re nowhere near on the same level of attention as Taylor,” Jason quipped, acknowledging the vast difference between their worlds.
Jason also took a moment to gush about Swift’s remarkable talent, particularly after her multiple wins at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. “She is, like, so talented it’s ridiculous,” he raved. “Not only as a singer and songwriter, but production-wise, too. She’s so involved in every facet of what she does.”
Drawing comparisons to music legends, Jason expressed how impressed he is by Swift’s sustained success and influence. “When I think of big names in music who have sustained their fame over such a long time, she’s up there with the likes of Bruce Springsteen. It feels like she’s tied with those kinds of names,” he said, underscoring her lasting legacy in the industry.
One of the things Jason admires most about Swift is her control over her career and creative projects. “What’s so impressive about her is how self-controlled it all is. She’s so involved in everything she does,” Jason said. “A lot of artists are great at their craft, but when you can be the artist, the business manager, the producer, and wear all those hats, it’s just remarkable.”
Swift began dating Travis in the summer of 2023, and the couple went public with their relationship that September. Since then, Jason has grown close to the pop star, frequently seen bonding with her at Kansas City Chiefs games where his brother plays.
Swift has also developed a strong connection with Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, and their three daughters, who are all big fans of the “Blank Space” singer.
