Just weeks ago, longtime Philadelphia Eagles star offensive lineman Jason Kelce bid farewell to the NFL as he announced his retirement.
However, Kelce won’t be idle for long. While savoring his retirement at the moment, a fierce competition is underway to secure the next media sensation.
Kelce, who co-hosts the ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother Travis, has emerged as the hottest commodity in the media landscape. According to a recent report from media insider Andrew Marchand, ESPN is aggressively pursuing the former Eagles standout.
Marchand indicated that the network is eyeing Kelce to replace former college football star quarterback Robert Griffin III on its ‘Monday Night Countdown’ program.

“Griffin III had been seen as a rising star within the network, but his trajectory has stalled, putting his Monday night spot in jeopardy,” Marchand explained.
The report also suggests that former NFL star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald may see a reduction or even elimination of his role heading into the 2024 season. However, host Scott Van Pelt, analysts Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark, and feature reporter Michelle Beisner-Buck are all expected to remain with the program.
Kelce has been on the radar of major sports networks for quite some time, dating back to the 2023 offseason when he was contemplating his playing future. Now that he has officially retired, Kelce has already engaged in discussions with prominent entities such as Amazon, CBS, and NBC.
And now, it appears ESPN is throwing its hat into the ring in the pursuit of Kelce’s talents.
