Notably, the online community had hoped the Vikings would opt for a trade involving Jameis Winston, the backup quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.
The Vikings found themselves in need of assistance at the quarterback position following Kirk Cousins’ season-ending Achilles injury.
Many believe Jameis Winston deserves another opportunity as a starting quarterback and contend that he ranks among the top 30 quarterbacks in the NFL.
