Jameis Winston may be on the lookout for a new team this offseason after spending the last four years with the New Orleans Saints. In 2020, he served as a backup to Drew Brees before taking over as the team’s starting quarterback in 2021. Unfortunately, his promising season was cut short by a torn ACL.
Although Winston was named the starter again in 2022, he was eventually benched in favor of Andy Dalton. The Saints later signed Derek Carr as their new starting quarterback.
In an interview with Saints News Network, Winston discussed his uncertain future as he heads into free agency. While expressing his love for the city of New Orleans and its culture, he also acknowledged his desire to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.

“Well, what next with me is wherever God, and whatever he has in his will for me. I’m going to do my best to dominate the opportunity,” Winston told Saints News Network. “It’s such a love for the city. I just admire the individuals. And I admire the culture and the integrity that this city possesses.”
If Winston does depart from the Saints, he’ll leave behind a legacy of 2,367 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions during his tenure. Of course, his previous numbers with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also remain noteworthy.
