Ja Morant can’t seem to stay out of the headlines.
On Wednesday, Ja Morant posted concerning photos on his Instagram. This led police to perform a welfare check on the NBA star. He posted photos of his family to his IG story and a message saying “Bye,” causing fans to worry about his mental state.
“According to TMZ, the player told the officers his posts were nothing serious at all, and “that he is taking a break from social media,” which seems to make sense, but did he not realize the posts tone was a lot more somber than taking a break from social media.”

However, police confirmed that Morant was fine and not a threat to himself. Later on, Morant faced trouble with the NBA after a gun-related incident, leading to his suspension by the Memphis Grizzlies and removal of his shoes from Nike’s website.
Morant apologized for his actions and expressed commitment to work on himself.
Despite Morant’s explanation that he is taking a break from social media, the NBA’s investigations are still ongoing, and punishment from Commissioner Adam Silver is expected to be severe.
Ja Morant is coming off an All-Star season averaging 26.2 PPG and 8.1 APG. The 2022-23 season was anything but smooth sailing for the superstar, though. Morant was suspended eight games in March for his initial gun incident. Upon his return, the Grizzlies disappointed in the Playoffs, losing to the Lakers in the first round.
