Former NFL star J.J. Watt’s wife, Kealia, made her television debut on Friday.
Kealia Watt, a former star for the National Women’s Soccer League, returned to her old home stadium in Houston, Texas as a broadcaster for Amazon Prime’s coverage of a game between the Houston Red Dash and Washington Spirit.
The NWSL X account welcomed Watt back to H-Town with a post.
Watt’s debut on the sideline was impressive, but her former team didn’t fare as well, suffering a 3-1 defeat against Washington.

The Spirit’s Brittany Ratcliffe and Croix Bethune found the net after the 80th minute, securing the victory.
Prior to the match, Watt was honored with a special ceremony in Houston, where she previously served as team captain, marking her return to the city.
“Houston is home to me, so to be back in that stadium for the 10th anniversary… it just means so much,” Watt said.
Watt was an original member of the Dash having been selected by them with the second overall pick in the 2014 NWSL draft.
J.J and Kealie have been married since 2020 and have a child together.
Like her husband, Kealia as decided to make the transition into broadcasting following her pro playing career.
“I think that for any professional athlete that’s retiring, the transition is really hard,” she said in an interview with Houston’s KHOU 11.
“It was really so many changes. And I was fortunate enough to get to take some time to figure out what I want to do.”
