This week, former Houston Texans star J.J. Watt is making waves online.
During Super Bowl LVIII a few weeks ago, Watt debuted a new hairstyle that sparked nostalgia, reminiscent of styles seen in bands from past eras. Known for his typically clean-cut appearance, Watt surprised many with a spiked, messy hair-do.
Now, he’s taking his eccentricity a step further with what appears to be a massive combover, complemented by a striking mustache. His overall look harkens back to the aesthetic of 23-year-old football players from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s.

Watt concluded his illustrious NFL career after 12 seasons, initially with the Houston Texans from 2011 to 2020 before moving on to the Arizona Cardinals in 2021.
Selected by the Texans as the No. 11 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Watt faced initial fan backlash, famously booed at the time. Throughout his NFL tenure, he amassed impressive stats, including 586 tackles, 114.5 sacks, two interceptions, and three touchdowns. In his final season, Watt enjoyed a resurgence, tallying 39 tackles and 12.5 sacks.
In a fitting tribute, Watt joined former Texans receiving greats Andre Johnson and Robert McNair in the Ring of Honor this past season.
