The WNBA is poised to usher in the Caitlin Clark era, as the highly anticipated rookie is set to make her professional debut next week.
Clark will play her first game on Tuesday, May 12, when her team, the Indiana Fever, visits the Connecticut Sun.
The excitement surrounding Clark’s debut is reflected in ticket prices, which are soaring to levels unusual for the WNBA. On StubHub, the least expensive ticket for the game is listed at $99 before fees, while over on TicketMaster, prices start at $161.28, also before fees. Some premium seats are fetching as high as $1000 to $4000.

For context, ticket prices for other WNBA games on the same night are significantly lower. The cheapest seats for the Washington Mystics versus the New York Liberty and the Seattle Storm against the Minnesota Lynx are going for $35 and $30, respectively.
Clark demonstrated her potential during her preseason debut by scoring 21 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists in just 28 minutes. Alongside Clark, the 2024 WNBA season will also feature other notable rookies like Cameron Brink and Angel Reese, the latter having recently made an appearance at the Met Gala.
Entering the 2024 season, Clark is the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year and ranks as the fourth favorite to win the league’s MVP award. Her presence has also boosted the Indiana Fever’s prospects, placing them as the sixth favorite to win the WNBA title, trailing behind teams like the Las Vegas Aces, New York Liberty, Connecticut Sun, Seattle Storm, and Dallas Wings.
