Temi Fagbenle expressed her anticipation for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever’s upcoming rematch with the Las Vegas Aces after a challenging start to the WNBA season.
She hinted that the team’s demanding schedule played a role in their recent blowout loss but remains optimistic about the team’s prospects in Indianapolis.
On her Instagram story Sunday night, Fagbenle reflected on the defeat to the reigning champions, eager for a chance to bounce back in their next game on July 2.
“Playing seven games in 12 days is no joke, but it’s something all WNBA teams face at some point,” she noted. The Fever’s intense early schedule, likely designed to maximize rookie sensation Caitlin Clark’s court time, has tested the team.

Fagbenle, who has recently returned to the WNBA after seven years abroad, pointed out the grueling schedule not as a complaint but as a reality check on the challenges they face. The adjustment has been particularly stark for her.
The team had a brief respite with two days off after Saturday’s game but will soon enter another busy stretch with games on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, followed by a longer break until the following Friday.
Fagbenle also shared a motivational quote on her story: “You are the greatest project you’ll ever work on. Restart. Reset. Refocus. As many times as you need. Just don’t give up.”
With a 1-6 record early in the season, the Fever has experienced both concerning and promising moments. Fagbenle suggests that the intense early schedule could shock the system in a way that might galvanize the team as they aim for a playoff spot, despite the early struggles.
