Caitlin Clark has become a major draw.
As a standout at Iowa, Clark was instrumental in boosting television ratings for women’s college basketball during the 2023-24 season and the NCAA tournament. Her popularity is now extending to the WNBA, where the Indiana Fever, holders of the upcoming draft’s first pick, are expected to select her.
Following a season where they were featured in just 22 nationally televised games, the Fever are set to appear in 36 televised games out of 40 for the 2024 season, in anticipation of Clark joining the team.
Moreover, there’s been a noticeable increase in ticket demand and prices for the Fever, as reported by Stephen Holder of ESPN. Despite finishing nearly last in home attendance and winning only 13 games last season, the Fever are experiencing a surge in ticket sales, currently offering presales for two games daily over a two-week period.

The presale tickets have been selling briskly. By Thursday afternoon, only a handful of seats outside the balcony level remained from the batch of tickets made available earlier in the day for games against the Seattle Storm and Dallas Wings. Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where the Fever and Indiana Pacers play home games, has a capacity of more than 18,000.
This spike in interest follows Clark’s impressive performance in the NCAA, where her Iowa Hawkeyes drew a record 18.9 million viewers for their national title game. Clark, who holds the record for the most career points in Division I for both men and women, is set to make a significant impact in the WNBA just as she did in college.
The 2024 WNBA draft, where Clark’s professional journey will begin, is scheduled for April 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET, taking place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, NY.
