Jontay Porter may have some explaining to do.
Earlier in the day, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter was being investigated by the NBA as the look into “irregularities on prop betting involving him.”
Of course, NBA fans on social media had a field day with this one and now video has emerged of Porter appearing unhappy after he banked in a three-pointer from the top of the key in a game.
This clip is not from either the Raptors’ January 26th against the Los Angeles Clippers or the March 20th game against the Phoenix Suns which are the two games that were reportedly being investigated as Porter exited both those games early due to “illness” or “injury.”
This clip is from the Raptors’ March 22 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in which Porter scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds in just over 20 minutes.
It’s unclear what his prop lines were for this particular game, but his prop lines for one of the game’s being investigated on March 20th were over/under 7.5 points and over/under 5.5 rebounds.
Porter has been locked into a consistent bench role since March 11 in which he’s been getting minutes in the low-to-mid 20s so it can be reasonably assumed that his prop lines for the March 22nd game were close to the one on March 20.
