Ice Spice confessed she was completely baffled when she attended the 2024 Super Bowl with Taylor Swift.
The “Princess Diana” rapper shared a laugh with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” Friday when he mentioned that she looked “confused” while watching Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, compete against the San Francisco 49ers in February.
“I was incredibly confused. I’m still confused,” she admitted with a chuckle.
Fallon then inquired if Ice Spice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, knew “anything about football” before attending the game.
“You know, that day, I had, like, a sense of knowing, but it just went away,” she confessed. The “Barbie World” artist, 24, reiterated that she did “not have a clue” what was happening while she was with Swift, 34, and her entourage, including Blake Lively, Lana Del Rey, and Keleigh Teller.
“I honestly would just wait until Taylor cheered, and then I’m like, ‘Yay!’” she said, clapping her hands to mimic her actions during the game.

Ice Spice drew significant attention at the time when fans noticed her puzzled expression during the championship game at Allegiant Stadium near Las Vegas. One viral clip showed Swift pointing to the field and explaining something to Spice, who initially looked confused before seemingly understanding and responding, “Oh!”
The bond between the “Cruel Summer” singer and the “Think U the S–t” rapper began after they collaborated on a remix of Swift’s song “Karma” the previous year. Swift later invited Ice Spice to perform their collaboration during her Eras Tour.
Despite some internet trolls suggesting that the 14-time Grammy winner only befriended the rising star for publicity, Ice Spice refuted these claims. “Why would she not want to be my friend? Taylor f–ks with me. She’s so funny. I think our personalities mesh really well,” she told Rolling Stone in an interview published last week.
Swift also praised Ice Spice, highlighting her genuine interest in the music industry. “Seeing Ice lean into the strategic, financial, and business aspects of her career is really exciting for me. I knew based on the questions she asked and the observations she made that she didn’t just want to be a passenger in her own career; she wanted to be the driver of it,” Swift said.
