Packers quarterback Jordan Love recently shared a lighthearted moment about how his massive new contract extension has influenced his wedding plans. After securing a four-year, $220 million deal with Green Bay, Love joked that the budget for his upcoming nuptials might need a little adjustment.
Love proposed to his girlfriend, Ronika Stone, during a romantic trip to Italy, a moment they both proudly shared on Instagram this past June. The proposal took place outside Castello di Celsa, a stunning 13th-century castle nestled in the heart of Tuscany—a fittingly picturesque location for such a significant event.
During a recent appearance on the “Scoop City” podcast, Love revealed some details about their wedding plans while discussing the big day with The Athletic’s Dianna Russini and Chase Daniel. The couple has set the date for June 22, with Stone taking the lead on most of the planning.
“She’s handling all of that,” Love said, explaining that his demanding schedule, particularly during training camp, left little time for him to be deeply involved in the preparations. “I was in [training] camp, so you know, there’s not much time.”

When Russini playfully inquired whether his wedding budget had increased following his record-breaking contract, Love couldn’t help but laugh. His new deal, which keeps him with the Packers through 2028 and includes a $75 million signing bonus, certainly provides room for an upgrade.
“That’s a great question. … It does [change],” the 25-year-old quarterback admitted, acknowledging that the significant financial boost might influence their plans.
Love and Stone have been together since at least September 2020, as noted in her Instagram posts. Their relationship became public in early 2021 when Love shared their romance on social media. Stone, a professional volleyball player with the San Diego Mojo and an Oregon volleyball alum, has been a steady presence in Love’s life as he’s risen through the ranks in the NFL.
The couple’s Italian getaway, which included the memorable proposal, came shortly after Love attended the Packers’ mandatory minicamp from June 11-13 in Green Bay. Despite his busy schedule, the trip allowed the couple some much-needed time together before the start of the NFL season.
As the Packers prepare to open their 2024 season against the Eagles in Brazil on September 6, Love’s focus is firmly on football.
But with wedding plans now in full swing—and a significantly increased budget—Love and Stone are set to enjoy an unforgettable celebration next June, marking yet another milestone in their journey together.
