During the first half of Super Bowl LVIII, the San Francisco 49ers didn’t hold back in their assessment of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
NFL Films’ camera crew captured 49ers linebacker Fred Warner questioning Kelce’s toughness, emphasizing the need to make the seasoned player “miserable” throughout the game.
“Imma tell you right now bro, we’ve got to make his life miserable for four quarters,” Warner remarked. “He’s not built for that.”

Despite Warner’s remarks, Kelce, renowned for his record-breaking playoff receptions, showcased his resilience. The All-Pro concluded the Super Bowl with nine receptions for 93 yards, proving his mettle on the field.
Kelce’s postseason performance was consistently impressive, with his lowest output being seven catches for 71 yards against the Miami Dolphins during Wild Card Weekend.
In a moment of vindication, Kelce addressed the overtime victory on his “New Heights” podcast, seizing the opportunity to have the last word.
“You win the coin toss, that’s what you get, you get the opportunity to have the advantage, and they handed it right over to us,” Kelce recounted. “Not trying to harp on the guy, but … like, they said they wanted to receive, and the ref looked at Fred [Warner] and said, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure you want to receive?’ And he said, ‘Yeah.’”
