Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese teamed up to lead Team WNBA to a thrilling victory over the USA Olympic team in Saturday’s WNBA All-Star Game.
The star rookies provided a highlight fans had eagerly anticipated, combining for a spectacular play in the fourth quarter.
After Sabrina Ionescu scored for Team USA, Clark quickly sprinted up the court. Reese, setting a rub screen for the Indiana Fever guard, rolled to the basket and seamlessly finished a layup off one of Clark’s 10 assists.
A live microphone captured Clark urging her teammates to maintain a high tempo. Following Ionescu’s score, the No. 1 pick could be heard shouting, “Go, go, go.” Reese responded by hurrying down the court, positioning herself perfectly to receive Clark’s pinpoint bounce pass.
During an in-game interview with Ryan Ruocco, Reese praised Clark’s playmaking abilities and looked forward to their potential future collaboration on the USA Olympic team in 2028.
“It’s so cool,” Reese said. “When she gets the ball, I’m running to look for the ball because I know she’s gonna throw it. She’s been great to play with. I mean, [in] the future, we’re going to be playing with each other a lot. Hopefully, in four years, we’ll be Olympians together.”

David Brandt of the Associated Press reported that Reese recalled Clark joking about the attention their play would garner. “You know how many people are happy right now?” Clark said to Reese on the bench.
Clark, the WNBA’s assist leader, discussed her passion for playing at a fast pace and setting up her teammates.
“I just love passing the basketball,” Clark said. “I love to push the pace. I want to make people run, and honestly, sometimes it almost works better when the other team scores. They take a breath for a second, but I want to get the ball and go.”
This dynamic duo’s performance not only thrilled fans but also hinted at the exciting future of women’s basketball.
Clark and Reese have already shown they can shine on the biggest stages, and their chemistry on the court suggests they will be formidable forces in the WNBA and potentially on the Olympic stage for years to come.
