After an impressive performance against the Eagles on Monday night, Drew Lock seemed to take a playful jab at Jalen Hurts.
The Seahawks quarterback secured a victory in the ‘Monday Night Football’ fixture with a clutch drive and expressed strong emotions afterward, especially since he hadn’t won a game he started since his time with the Broncos in 2020.
In his post-game comments, Lock acknowledged that he hadn’t experienced such a great feeling in a football game for a long time. However, he appeared to make a lighthearted remark about Hurts, possibly implying that he was absent during the celebration.
As he walked away, Lock was overheard saying, “I guess he’s sick.”
Hurts had missed practice over the weekend due to illness, and there was anticipation of a “flu game” as he arrived in Seattle separately from his teammates, dressed in Jordan gear. However, things didn’t unfold as expected.
In contrast, Lock orchestrated a remarkable drive that sealed the night, completing five passes for 92 yards and securing a 20-17 victory for Seattle, keeping their season alive.

Head coach Pete Carroll praised the game-winning drive, saying, “Beautiful football. Just beautiful football. The poise we talked to you about last week. That’s where he’s been. He’s been on it. He’s been in command. There’s a couple incompletes in that drive, came right back and hit it, converted and made the first downs and all to throw the football to win the game. Amazing stuff.”
Drew Lock had a successful night, and it’s understandable that he would desire a bit of recognition from his opponent.
