In Saturday’s preseason matchup, the Jets, led by Aaron Rodgers, faced off against the Giants.
It was Rodgers’ debut game with the Jets, and they emerged victorious with a score of 32-24. During the game, Rodgers completed 5 out of 8 passes for 47 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown pass to their talented second-year receiver, Garrett Wilson.
The Jets’ training camp has been captured by HBO’s Hard Knocks, and they caught an intriguing exchange between Rodgers and Giants linebacker Jihad Ward. After a completion on the touchdown drive, Ward expressed his displeasure at Rodgers attempting to exaggerate the impact of his shove.
He questioned Rodgers, expressing his frustration with the situation and demanding respect. Rodgers, however, was unimpressed and retaliated, expressing his ignorance of Ward’s identity despite his confrontational behavior.

As Rodgers later threw the touchdown pass to Wilson, he made sure to remind Ward not to provoke him, reiterating that he had never even heard of him. Returning to the sidelines, Rodgers shared the exchange with his teammates, deeming Ward’s remarks “un-comeback-with-able.”
He also revealed that Ward had claimed to not know who Rodgers was, prompting Rodgers to call it out as nonsense. This preseason game showcased some heated trash talk between the two teams, emphasizing their mutual dislike.
Nonetheless, it is clear that Rodgers is seamlessly fitting in with his new team, the Jets.
