Hailing from Buffalo, Williams began his football journey in high school at Riverside before embarking on a collegiate career at Syracuse University. As a true freshman in 2006, he emerged as a standout, leading the team with 461 receiving yards. His impressive performance earned him an all-Big East selection the following season, although he faced a suspension for the 2008 season due to academic reasons.
In 2009, during seven games, he displayed his talent by catching 49 passes for 746 yards and seven touchdowns. However, he abruptly left the team, potentially facing a suspension for violating team rules following a car accident.
Subsequently, Williams was drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his rookie season, he excelled, leading the team with 964 receiving yards and securing 65 receptions. The Buccaneers extended his contract before the 2013 season, but he only played in six games that year before being traded to his hometown team, the Buffalo Bills, where he spent one season.
In 2015, he faced a suspension for the first six games of the season but remained a free agent. He briefly joined the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad in 2016.
Williams enjoyed a four-season tenure with the Buccaneers before concluding his professional career with the Bills in 2014. Over his NFL career, he accumulated 223 receptions for 3,089 yards and scored 26 touchdowns.
