A high school girls’ soccer announcer recently sparked controversy and went viral after he was heard making inappropriate remarks, believing his microphone was turned off.
During the halftime of the third-place game between Rose Hill and McPherson at the Kansas Class 4A-1A state championship tournament in Wichita, Kansas, announcer Toby Moore was caught on the NFHS Network broadcast criticizing the players. Unaware that he was still broadcasting, Moore expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the game’s quality.
“I was mentally at my breaking point about 30 minutes in,” Moore commented. “If all they’re going to do is kick the ball out of bounds and miss passes, I might as well head home… I was joking about jumping off the press box, but it’s too low to do any real harm.”
Later, Moore and his colleague shifted their conversation to inappropriate comments about spectators, specifically referring to some of the mothers attending the game.

Moore has since been prohibited from covering any future games sanctioned by the Kansas State High School Activities Association, according to reports from Awful Announcing.
In the game itself, McPherson managed to score the decisive goal in the second half, securing a 2-1 victory over Rose Hill.
