Athletes are renowned for their superstitions, whether it’s adhering to a specific pregame routine or wearing a lucky piece of clothing before a big match.
However, it seems that superstitions extend beyond the athletes themselves. Late Tuesday night, Kylie Kelce, the wife of Philadelphia Eagles star offensive lineman Jason Kelce, disclosed that she had a superstition of her own during the Super Bowl.
As the Kansas City Chiefs trailed, Kylie couldn’t bear to watch the game directly. Instead, she relied on the reactions of a friend to keep her informed about the on-field action.
“In the midst of Sunday, my superstition kicked in strong,” she shared in an Instagram Story post. “I couldn’t bring myself to watch the game, not even on TV. Here’s Sarah King, the real MVP. I simply observed her reactions, which kept me updated.”

King later confirmed Kylie’s avoidance of the game with a photo on her own Instagram story, showing Kylie turned away from the field. “She wasn’t joking,” King remarked in the post.
Ultimately, Kylie’s unconventional method paid off as the Chiefs managed to tie the game in the final seconds of regulation and secured victory with a touchdown drive in overtime. This victory marked the third Super Bowl title for Kylie’s brother-in-law, Travis, and the Chiefs in the last five seasons.
