The Las Vegas Raiders can now breathe a sigh of relief as there are positive developments regarding Josh Jacobs’ contract situation.
Reports suggest that the franchise tagged player will soon return to the team ahead of their season opener.
Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, relying on information from multiple league sources, has confirmed that Jacobs is expected to report back to the Raiders in the coming weeks.
But with only a few practices remaining before the club takes the field against the Broncos on Sept. 10, time is running out for Jacobs to be fully prepared for the rigors of an NFL game.
This news puts an end to the speculation surrounding his absence and provides much-needed clarity.
Fortunately for Jacobs, he hasn’t suffered any financial losses during this holdout period since he is not currently under contract.
However, had he continued his holdout into the regular season, things would have changed.
As last year’s top performer in terms of yards from scrimmage, Jacobs is an invaluable asset for the Raiders. His presence in the upcoming season opener against the Broncos will undoubtedly solidify his status as a top-tier player in the league.
