Skip Bayless has been absent from FS1 since Shannon Sharpe left nearly two months ago, leaving him as the last remaining member of the original “Undisputed” team.
It is reported that FS1 has lined up Richard Sherman, Lil Wayne, Keyshawn Johnson, and Rachel Nichols as rotating debaters.
However, Bayless refuses to work with one of FOX’s prominent analysts, according to a source. The source believes that mimicking ESPN’s format will only worsen the show, especially because Rachel Nichols is known for her interviewing skills, not debating.
Lil Wayne and Sherman have potential, but Keyshawn, recently laid off by ESPN, is apparently searching for a new opportunity.
This suggests that FS1 is struggling to find notable talents to pair with Bayless.
The source claims that Bayless does not want to work with Nick Wright because he fears Wright would discredit him on air.
This is it? This is literally copying exactly what ESPN is doing. And it will make a bad show worse. Rachel Nichols has never been a debater or given opinions. She’s a great interviewer. So this is a classic miscast. Lil Wayne is Skip’s barbecue buddy. Sherman has potential. But Keyshawn just got laid off by ESPN — and is looking for his next gig. This shows me they’re having trouble finding major talents to work with Skip. … Skip doesn’t want to work with Nick Wright. Skip doesn’t want to work with anybody who will make him look bad. And Nick would disembowel him on the air.

Bayless has a reputation for being challenging to work with and has the final say on all hires, as per reports.
Since leaving ESPN in 2016, Bayless’ morning debate show, “First Take,” has nearly tripled its viewership compared to his current audience.
Bayless has assured fans that the revamped “Undisputed” will return on August 28th.
