Henry Ruggs, former wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, is set to appear in court this week for sentencing following a fatal DUI crash that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman.
He could face a prison sentence of three to 10 years in a Nevada state prison, with the sentencing scheduled for August 9th.
Prior to his sentencing, Ruggs had been under house arrest with alcohol and location monitoring devices, but he had also spent a month at a mental health facility receiving PTSD treatment related to the car accident.

His lawyers claimed that Ruggs had experienced enhanced trauma due to the death of his best friend in a car crash when he was a teenager.
Ruggs was accused of driving at speeds up to 156 miles per hour with a blood-alcohol content of 0.16 percent, twice the legal limit, which led to a crash resulting in the deaths of the woman and her dog in November 2021.
He was subsequently released by the Raiders following the charges.
Regardless of the length of his sentence, it is unlikely that Ruggs will have another opportunity to play in the NFL.
In his NFL career, Ruggs played 20 games for the Raiders, recording 24 receptions, 469 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in the 2021 season.
