Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, surprised many when he inked a broadcasting deal with FOX worth over $300 million towards the end of his NFL career. He is slated to start his broadcasting journey this fall, but not everyone is convinced it will happen.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk expressed doubts on Dan Patrick’s show, speculating that Brady might never step into the broadcasting booth.
“I think there’s a chance he never gets in the broadcasting booth,” said Florio.
This speculation stems from Brady’s recent comments hinting at a potential return to football.
Earlier this month, Brady mentioned that he would consider returning to the field if a contending team needed a quarterback.
“There are no accidents when it comes to Tom Brady,” Florio stated. “And for him to come out and say, after declaring last year he’s done and he’s never coming back … [that he] wouldn’t be opposed to coming back and playing, are you kidding me? That was huge.”

Florio believes that Brady’s statement was intentional and a strategic move to gauge interest from teams needing a quarterback just weeks before the draft. “I don’t think it’s something that just flew out of his mouth, I think he’s ready to come back,” Florio argued. “And I think that was his trial balloon to see if anyone will call him. He wants to be pursued.”
With Brady’s history of retiring and then un-retiring, Florio posits that there’s a real possibility Brady might opt to return to the gridiron instead of transitioning to the broadcasting booth.
While Brady has shown enthusiasm about his upcoming broadcasting career, his past actions and recent openness to playing again keep the door open for another return to the NFL.
