One Las Vegas restaurant expressed disappointment and frustration with Guy Fieri’s Super Bowl Tailgate after a significant portion of the food they prepared went untouched.
Yukon Pizza, one of the participating vendors at Guy Fieri’s Super Bowl Tailgate, took to Facebook to share their experience.
They specifically called out Guy Fieri for what they perceived as misleading information about the expected turnout for the event. According to Yukon Pizza, they sold only 10% of the sandwiches they had prepared, as most attendees opted for free food from corporate sponsors rather than supporting local vendors.

So… @guyfieri ‘s Tailgate was a bust. We sold 10% of the sandwiches we were told to prepare for this event. Turns out, when major corporate sponsors offer up mountains of free food inside the tailgate, no one wants to buy food from the local vendors. We are disappointed in @guyfieri – it’s obvious he doesn’t care about the community of local chefs who worked extremely hard to prepare for this tailgate. A whole team of hardworking events people had to watch as customers ignored dozens of local restaurant booths. Were grateful for this who did stop by.”
While Yukon Pizza’s frustration is understandable, directing blame solely at Guy Fieri may be misguided. As the host of the event, Fieri’s name was associated with it, but he likely had minimal involvement in the logistical planning. It’s plausible that he would have preferred to see more support for local restaurants at the tailgate.
Although Guy Fieri hasn’t responded to the restaurant’s grievances on social media, it’s likely he would sympathize with their disappointment. As a well-known figure in the culinary community, he has a reputation for supporting local chefs and businesses.
The story gained attention on social media, prompting support from Las Vegas locals who pledged to visit Yukon Pizza in the following days. Despite the setback, the community’s response demonstrates a willingness to support local businesses.
