FOX NFL announcer Greg Olsen made a lighthearted reference to Tom Brady during his acceptance speech at the Sports Emmy Awards.
Olsen, a retired NFL tight end, won the Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst award and humorously addressed losing his role as Fox NFL’s top game analyst to Brady next season.
He also expressed his passion for the game of football and his uncertainty about his future, emphasizing his commitment to the sport.
“I think there’s a lot of people wondering what I’m going to say right now,” the New Jersey native quipped, making the audience laugh.
“Coming into tonight, people asked me, ‘What’s the biggest threat to your future in the business?’
“And everyone was, ‘Oh, Brady and this.’
“I think it’s Andy from Toy Story. If he gets in, [Chris] Collinsworth, [Troy] Aikman, we’re dead.”
Olsen has been a part of Fox’s lead NFL broadcast team since 2022, and he will be working with Joe Davis in the upcoming season as Brady joins the network as the new star analyst.
Greg Olsen accepted a significant reduction in salary as well.
