Gisele Bundchen’s recent romance has fizzled out, and she attributes the strain in her new relationship to her ex-husband, Tom Brady, and his participation in a Netflix celebrity roast.
At this event, jokes targeted Brady’s family and ex-wife, which Bundchen felt was inconsiderate and placed her new partner, Joaquim Valente, under undue scrutiny.
“By agreeing to do the roast, he basically put a target on Joaquim’s back,” an insider told In Touch about Bundchen’s feelings.
Brady and Bundchen, who married in 2009 after beginning their relationship in 2006, share two children. Their marriage ended in October 2022, amidst speculation tied to Brady’s brief retirement from and subsequent return to the NFL.
However, Bundchen has refuted claims that his career decisions prompted their divorce.

Valente, a long-time friend of Bundchen before they began dating, found the sudden media attention challenging to handle, unlike Bundchen, who is accustomed to life in the spotlight. Despite their personal connection, the pressures of public scrutiny proved too great for their relationship to withstand.
“The spotlight was too much for him,” the source added. “Joaquim’s a regular guy. He’s not used to all the attention he was getting.”
Valente has not been seen at Bundchen’s Florida home since April 2024, a year after they started dating. “Joaquim became part of the joke. People actually started asking him if he was the reason for their divorce. He hated that.”
This added public pressure contributed to their decision to put their relationship on hold.
