Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, often known as “No Chill Gil” due to his unfiltered nature, stirred up controversy once again this week with one of his most divisive comments yet.
During the latest episode of his show, Gil’s Arena, Arenas and Nick Young delved into a discussion about Instagram models, which eventually led to Arenas offering advice on how women could earn significant amounts of money by engaging with NBA players.
Arenas suggested a strategic approach, proposing that women treat their interactions with NBA players as a business opportunity. He outlined a scenario where women could potentially earn substantial sums by being involved with multiple NBA players, emphasizing the financial benefits.
His remarks included statements such as, “Get you some NBA players,” and calculating potential monthly earnings based on different tiers of NBA players.

“Let’s just say say four. If you f— four dudes a year or three dudes a year,” Arenas explained. “I’m telling you, from the ages of probably what 18 to 35, treat it like a business.
“Get you some NBA players, three NBA players. Think about it. The NBA player on the lowest end, on the brokest n—- in the NBA, he gonna pay you about five grand a month, just to f— with you. Five grand a month. So if you got three of them that’s $15 grand a month, just on the bottom end.
“Now you talking about like, if you got a James Harden, Paul George or something like that, you’re talking about just on f—– around with you, you talking about $10, $20 grand a month just to be cool. You might have to sleep with dude maybe twice a month, three times a month, right? With those dudes?
“Three times a month depending. You making $60 grand a month. What job, what education you going to get from the ages of 20 to 35 that’s going to pay you $60 grand?”
However, Arenas’ comments drew swift backlash from various quarters. Many expressed shock and disapproval, criticizing his promotion of what they viewed as exploitation and objectification of women for financial gain.
Some commenters highlighted the potential negative consequences of such arrangements, including issues with child support payments and the overall ethical implications of such transactions.
Others condemned the normalization of such behavior, particularly coming from high-profile athletes like NBA players, and questioned the values being perpetuated.
In response to the criticism, some viewers expressed a lack of empathy for individuals who might face financial challenges as a result of such arrangements, suggesting that they bear responsibility for their choices.
Overall, Arenas’ remarks sparked intense debate and condemnation, highlighting the complex issues surrounding gender dynamics, power dynamics, and financial transactions in professional sports and society at large.
