Fans be crazy.
The deadline for NFL teams to sign long-term players with franchise designations is rapidly approaching.
The New York Giants and Saquon Barkley are expected to reach an agreement on a contract, whether it be a new deal or a tender, before the July 15 deadline. Surprisingly, a passionate Giants fan took matters into his own hands by finding Barkley’s home address in an attempt to persuade him to sign the deal.
Watch below:
Well… that's one way to negotiate.
Guy goes to Saquon's house to yell at him until he signs his extension. It should also be noted that this man is allegedly not Joe Schoen. #TOGETHERBLUE #SAQUONBARKLEY #NYGIANTS #GIANTS #GMEN pic.twitter.com/0RpOWK397j

While this may not be the most conventional negotiating method, it highlights the urgency surrounding Barkley’s contract situation. Fortunately, Barkley is expected to report to training camp with the Giants veterans on July 25th, alleviating concerns of a potential holdout after his absence from the offseason program.
Fans can look forward to seeing Barkley in Giants gear as he continues to impress with his dedication to fitness.
By July 17th, it will become clear whether Barkley and the Giants have agreed on a long-term extension. In the worst-case scenario, Barkley would play the 2023 season under the non-exclusive franchise tag, earning $10.1 million.
Despite some injury setbacks, Barkley had an impressive season last year, showcasing his abilities as a rusher and receiver while remaining healthy for the entire season.
