George Kittle left no room for doubt about how much he enjoyed teammate Christian McCaffrey and model Olivia Culpo’s wedding in Rhode Island.
The glamorous event took place on June 29, with the couple exchanging vows at Watch Hill Chapel followed by a lavish reception at the Ocean House resort.
Speaking to the San Francisco media, the 49ers tight end raved about his first visit to the Ocean State and praised the ‘beautiful wedding.’ “I’ve never been to Rhode Island, I don’t know anyone from Rhode Island except for Olivia and her family, so it was kind of cool to meet other people from Rhode Island,” Kittle shared with reporters.
Kittle also reflected on the unique experience of attending such a high-profile event, given Culpo’s fame. The tight end was particularly struck by the heightened security and the presence of photographers and paparazzi. “It was kind of wild, too, because she’s really famous,” Kittle said. “So, having the amount of police officers that were around and security and stuff, and people from Rhode Island just standing there on the corners with photographers and paparazzi stuff, that was a wild experience for me.”

Despite the media frenzy, Kittle thoroughly enjoyed the wedding, even suggesting that the McCaffreys should host another celebration just for fun. “But overall, beautiful wedding, everyone there is incredible, so much fun, hopefully, they have another one just for fun and invite me again,” he added with a laugh.
Kittle attended the wedding with his wife Claire, and the guest list included notable 49ers personnel such as fullback Kyle Juszczyk and his wife Kristin, head coach Kyle Shanahan, and quarterback Brock Purdy, who also got married this offseason.
Olivia Culpo shared her own reflections on the ceremony with Vogue, describing a moment of humor when McCaffrey eagerly blurted out “I do” within the first minute. “The priest told him we weren’t quite there yet, and our family and friends had a great moment of laughter at his eagerness,” Culpo said. “As a bride, there’s no better feeling than your husband not being able to wait a second longer to marry you.”
The couple had been dating for nearly four years before McCaffrey proposed in April 2023. Their wedding marked a joyous and memorable occasion for everyone involved, providing a wholesome highlight during the offseason.
With the offseason festivities behind them, the 49ers are back in training camp, aiming to redeem themselves after a heartbreaking 25-22 overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in February’s Super Bowl. San Francisco will kick off their season at home, hosting the New York Jets on September 9.
The team and its fans are hopeful for a successful season, buoyed by the positive energy from moments like the McCaffrey-Culpo wedding.
