George and Claire Kittle have some valuable advice for fellow NFL couple Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift to help elevate their relationship.
While speaking to PEOPLE ahead of Netflix’s Receiver premiere, the 49ers tight end and his wife shared that the key elements of a strong relationship, particularly when dealing with the fame and fast-paced lifestyle of the NFL, come down to two essential things.
“Talk as much as you possibly can. Communicate!” George emphasized, with his wife of five years, Claire, echoing his sentiment. “The biggest thing is communication,” Claire agreed.
In addition to maintaining close communication, the Kittles have a nightly practice that they believe could be beneficial for couples like Swift and Kelce. “Something that Claire thought was a great idea that we’ve been doing for a long time is every night before you go to bed, make sure you tell each other ‘I love you’ before you go to sleep,” George shared.
“And I think it’s just good no matter if you guys had an argument or are upset with each other, just to tell the person that. It’s a good way to end the day,” he added.
“That is what I would say! Good job,” Claire quipped in agreement.
Kelce and Swift have already shown impressive dedication to making their demanding schedules work. Swift famously flew straight from her Eras tour shows in Tokyo to Las Vegas to support Kelce in Super Bowl LVIII in February, and Kelce has been a regular presence at many of her concerts in return.
Claire acknowledged that being in the public eye, especially in the NFL, means an increase in attention. However, she stressed the importance of maintaining a strong relationship amidst the chaos. “With everything that’s going on in each of our lives, you just say ‘I love you’ and it’s a nice little reset,” she said. “And then you wake up in the morning and wherever the world takes you, you know that.”
By following the Kittles’ advice, Kelce and Swift can continue to build a strong foundation in their relationship, ensuring that their love remains resilient despite the pressures and demands of their high-profile lives.
