An AFC Super Bowl contender has emerged as a potential landing spot for Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency, with the New York Jets reportedly standing out as a team to watch.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the Jets are worth monitoring in the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes, as the star wide receiver explores his options after spending the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens.
“As for free agents, it’s a middling group that includes a fading star (Odell Beckham Jr.), a star coming off ACL surgery (Mike Williams), a steady WR3 (Tyler Boyd) and another Rodgers crony (Marquez Valdes-Scantling). Williams is reportedly visiting this week. Also keep an eye on Beckham, whom they almost signed last year.”
Cimini highlighted the Jets’ active offseason in free agency, which saw notable acquisitions like offensive tackle Tyron Smith and quarterback Tyrod Taylor. With a revamped roster taking shape, the Jets are now eyeing reinforcements at wide receiver to complement emerging talent Garrett Wilson.

Beckham, known for his dynamic playmaking abilities, could be an ideal fit for the Jets, especially with the opportunity to play alongside accomplished quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While Beckham has put up impressive numbers in the past, including a Super Bowl victory with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, he has yet to experience playing with a quarterback of Rodgers’ caliber.
Despite a challenging 2022 season marked by injury, Beckham showcased his skills with the Ravens, tallying 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns on a one-year deal.
Given the Jets’ win-now approach with Rodgers at the helm, signing Beckham to a short-term contract could provide an immediate boost to their receiving corps and enhance their chances of contending in the upcoming season.
