This past weekend, Frank Gore, a former San Francisco 49ers star who earned five Pro Bowl selections and rushed for 16,000 career yards, celebrated a new milestone: becoming the ultimate proud dad.
His son, Frank Gore Jr., wasn’t drafted during the 2024 NFL draft, but shortly thereafter, he signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent.
Frank Gore Sr. took to Instagram to express his support, sharing a photo of his son donned in Bills attire with the caption, “HERE WE GO WE COMING.”

Gore Sr., who was selected by the 49ers in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft and played for the Bills in 2019, shared his excitement and confidence in an emotional response to CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson. “We’re good. We’re going to Buffalo man to do our thing. Tell them they better be ready—trust me,” he said. “I know what I’m raising. Folks slept on my son; they slept on me too—they’ll see. My bloodline is for real. Our (pre-draft) testing was identical. All the scouts were like you can tell that’s my son… Buffalo got a dog, I promise you that. I don’t give a —- about a draft pick.”
He also praised Bills coach Brandon Beane, calling him “the real deal.”
During his four years at Southern Mississippi, Gore Jr. accumulated 4,022 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns, averaging 5.3 yards per carry and posting back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in his last two years. He earned second-team All-Sun Belt honors twice.
Joining the Bills, Gore Jr. steps into a legacy his father contributed to during his own time with the team, where the elder Gore rushed for 599 yards in his late career. With the Bills, Gore Jr. is expected to start in a backup role to lead rusher James Cook, facing the challenge of building his career in the shadow of his father’s legendary achievements, ranked third all-time in NFL rushing yards behind Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton.
