Shortly after the Atlanta Falcons appointed Raheem Morris on Thursday, various NFL insiders hinted that Bill Belichick might spend the entire 2024 season on the sidelines. However, FOX Sports radio host Craig Carton disagrees with this notion.
On the latest episode of “The Carton Show,” he made a bold prediction, asserting that Bill Belichick would be the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carton’s speculation revolves around the belief that Andy Reid will retire after the current season concludes, potentially paving the way for Belichick to step in.
“I think Bill Belichick will be the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs next year,” Carton confidently stated. “I think that’s where he goes after Andy Reid retires after this year, which apparently there’s some smoke around him retiring.”

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has also engaged in speculation regarding Reid’s future with the Chiefs.
“I think there is reason to believe the Chiefs have the possibility on their radar screen. We will find out when the season ends,” Florio remarked about the potential retirement of Reid. “A lot of times, a guy keeps his mouth shut until it is all said and done – he doesn’t want to be the story, he doesn’t want to be the focal point, he doesn’t want it to be the issue.”
Nevertheless, the Chiefs’ decision to appoint Belichick as the head coach is not guaranteed. If anything, they might lean towards bringing in an offensive-minded coach to lead the team.
