A former starting running back is calling it a career at just 28 years old.
Buffalo Bills running back Damien Harris announced on Instagram that he has retired from the NFL.
Harris spent four years with the New England Patriots before joining the Bills on a one-year deal last year.

Harris had his best year as a professional in 2021 when he started 15 games for the Patriots and rushed for 929 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The Alabama product ran for just over 3,000 yards in his four years with the Crimson Tide and was named second-team All-SEC in 2018.
Harris was last played for the Bills in Week 6 of the 2023 season.
In that game against the New York Giants, Harris suffered a scary neck injury and was taken off the field via ambulance.
He was placed on injured reserve and diagnosed with a neck sprain.
It’s unclear if that impacted his decision to retire.
