Sergio Brown, a former NFL player, has been apprehended after engaging in some troubling behavior on social media. He has been taken into custody in connection with his mother’s tragic death, as reported by CNN.
Brown, who had been residing in Mexico, was deported and detained near San Diego on the basis of an arrest warrant issued in Illinois. The San Diego police are currently coordinating his transfer to the Chicago area.
Mexican authorities were aware of Brown’s whereabouts since at least September 19 and acted upon it after Illinois authorities obtained the arrest warrant related to his mother’s tragic passing.
The disturbing incident unfolded when Myrtle Brown, aged 73, was discovered deceased near her Maywood residence on September 16. Concerned relatives had alerted the police when they were unable to locate her or her son.

Following an examination by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, it was determined that Myrtle Brown’s demise was the result of injuries related to an assault, and her death was classified as a homicide.
Sergio Brown’s NFL journey included stints with the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Buffalo Bills before his retirement in 2016.
