Dan Snyder, the former owner of the Washington Commanders, is reportedly upset over “The Apprentice,” a film about Donald Trump’s rise that he invested in.
The movie debuted at Cannes this month, but little has been revealed about its plot, and it has received minimal press coverage.
According to Variety, Snyder, who is known to have donated significantly to Trump’s political campaigns, believed he was funding a film that would portray the 45th president in a favorable light.

However, upon viewing a cut of the film in February, Snyder was reportedly furious with its content.
Insiders suggest that Snyder had issues with several aspects of the film, including earlier screenplay versions that depicted a scene where Trump allegedly rapes Ivana, following a heated argument. This portrayal stems from a 1989 divorce deposition in which Ivana accused Trump of rape, though she later retracted the accusation in 2015, stating, “The story is totally without merit. Donald and I are the best of friends and together have raised three children that we love and are very proud of.”
This discontent adds to Snyder’s recent challenges, including being pressured into selling the Washington Commanders. The film, which still aims for a release before the upcoming November election, has become another point of contention for Snyder.
