Ben McLemore, a former NBA Draft lottery pick and standout player for the Kansas University men’s basketball team, was reportedly arrested this week and charged with first-degree rape, according to KGW News in Portland, Oregon.
According to jail records, the 31-year-old, known for his NBA career from 2013 to 2021 following his tenure with the Jayhawks, was apprehended in Multnomah County, Oregon, on Tuesday based on an outstanding warrant.
He was subsequently transferred to Clackamas County Jail on Wednesday.

Records indicate that he remains in custody, facing allegations including one count of unlawful sexual penetration and two counts of sexual abuse, in addition to the rape charge.
McLemore starred for the University of Kansas back in 2013 in his only season there and was drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the seventh overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft.
His NBA career never lived up to expectations as McLemore was very much a journeyman playing for the Kings from 2013 to 2017, the Grizzlies from 2017 to 2018, the Kings again from 2018 to 2019, the Houston Rockets from 2019 to 2021, the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021, and the Portland Trail Blazers from 2021 to 2022.
