Former New York Giants offensive lineman Korey Cunningham has passed away.
Cunningham was discovered deceased at his residence in Clifton, N.J., as reported by RLS Media. He was 28 years old.
Police were called to his home around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, where they found Cunningham unresponsive. The authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected and the death is believed to be a suicide.
The Giants released a statement expressing their condolences: “We are saddened to hear of the passing of Korey Cunningham. He was a vital part of the spirit and camaraderie of the locker room,” the team stated. “Our thoughts are with Korey’s family, friends, and teammates.”

Cunningham was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The former Cincinnati offensive tackle sustained a foot injury towards the end of his rookie year and was placed on injured reserve.
He was subsequently traded to the New England Patriots before the 2019 season and spent two years with them, concluding his professional career with the Giants.
Over five NFL seasons, Cunningham played in 31 games, starting six.
