Will there be a new quarterback under center for the Minnesota Vikings in 2024?
Kirk Cousins contract is up with the Vikings and it seems likely that he will test the free agent market with the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos being thrown around as possible destinations for the four-time Pro Bowler.

Options to replace Cousins for the Vikings remain scarce, but a former first round draft pick has emerged as a potential option in the short-term.
According to Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Sam Darnold may be wearing Vikings purple in 2024.
“Atlanta still looks like Cousins’ next destination. Meanwhile, there’s whispering now that the Vikings are considering free agent Sam Darnold, 26, as a bridge QB to replace Cousins before April’s draft. If Cousins leaves, the next step for the Vikings will be determining if they can move up in the draft from No. 11 to take an elite quarterback.”
The New York Jets selected Sam Darnold with the third overall pick in 2018. He was then traded to the Carolina Panthers before landing with the 49ers.
Darnold is only 26 years old so he’s still relatively young, but the Vikings will probably look to pick up a quarterback prospect in the upcoming NFL draft as well if Cousins does indeed sign elsewhere.
