Former ESPN host Michelle Beadle is poised for a significant new role in sports media.
Currently hosting SiriusXM’s ‘Mad Dog Radio’ and FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back,” Beadle is reportedly in discussions to co-host former WFAN broadcaster Craig Carton’s daily morning show.
According to the New York Post, these negotiations are ongoing, and a final agreement has yet to be reached. The outlet reports, “The FS1 lineup continues to evolve this summer. Michelle Beadle is in serious talks to join former WFAN broadcaster Craig Carton’s morning show as a daily co-host, The Post has learned.”
Sources indicate that while the deal is not yet finalized, discussions are progressing. It remains unclear who else might join the program as the ensemble continues to take shape.
Beadle’s potential new role would see her reconnecting with several familiar faces from her ESPN tenure. She has a working rapport with FS1 executives Charlie Dixon and Whit Albohm and has collaborated with ‘First Things First’ co-host Kevin Wildes on ESPN’s ‘SportsNation.’ She co-hosted ‘SportsNation’ alongside Colin Cowherd, who is also now at FS1.
In related news, the Post recently reported that Skip Bayless will be departing FS1 this summer following a significant drop in viewership after Shannon Sharpe left ‘Undisputed.’ Bayless and Sharpe co-hosted the show for seven years before their fallout last year, after which Sharpe joined ESPN.
Bayless has since been working with a rotating cast including Keyshawn Johnson, Richard Sherman, Rachel Nichols, Michael Irvin, Lil Wayne, and Paul Pierce, but has struggled to regain high viewer numbers. The future of ‘Undisputed’ remains uncertain once Bayless exits, but Beadle’s involvement with FS1 could potentially lead to new opportunities for the network.
Beadle’s possible addition to Carton’s show marks an exciting development for both her career and FS1.
Her extensive experience and familiarity with sports media could bring a fresh dynamic to the morning show lineup, promising engaging content for sports fans. As negotiations continue, the sports media landscape eagerly anticipates what could be a transformative new partnership.
