It’s a rarity to come across news about a college quarterback being married, but Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix is an exception.
Last night, Nix stepped onto the field at Allegiant Stadium with significant stakes. The senior QB aimed not only to secure a Pac 12 championship and propel his Ducks into the CFP final four but also to strengthen his case for the Heisman Trophy in a still-competitive race.

After Oregon quarterback Bo Nix witnessed his Ducks fall short in a heartbreaking 34-31 loss to Washington in the Pac-12 Championship on Friday, he found himself immobilized, sitting in shock, and draped in despair for several minutes with a towel over his head.
Acknowledging the unforgiving nature of football, Nix, who completed 21 of 34 passes for 239 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, reflected on the tough reality of giving it your all and still falling short. He expressed the poignant sentiment that sometimes the pain intensifies when you invest everything and realize it’s not sufficient.
In the aftermath, Nix revealed, “And there at the end, it was just one of those things where you want the moment to last longer than what it can. Even though we lost, it was one of those types of games that was really fun to play in.” Despite the defeat, the intensity and excitement of the game left an indelible mark on Nix.
Regardless of the outcome for Nix, he can look forward to a promising future in the NFL and the company of his lovely wife. Izzy Nix, formerly Izzy Smoke and a former cheerleader at Auburn University, stands by Bo’s side.
The young couple have been married for about a little over a year, as they celebrated their one year anniversary this past Summer.
The couple’s journey began during Bo’s time at Auburn, and even with his move west to Oregon, Izzy followed suit. While their decision to tie the knot at a young age might be unconventional, if it proves to be a successful and enduring path for them, embracing marriage at a young age seems like a fitting choice.
