Flavor Flav’s Unexpected National Anthem Performance
I never expected to witness Flavor Flav performing the National Anthem this year, but the Milwaukee Bucks have been pulling off some astonishing moves lately.
First, they surprised everyone, including Damian Lillard, by trading for him when the general consensus was that the point guard would join the Miami Heat. And then, on Sunday, they upped the ante by featuring one of the most unlikely candidates to sing the national anthem.
Flavor Flav had the distinct honor of delivering the “Star-Spangled Banner” before the Bucks faced off against the Atlanta Hawks. Surprisingly, he didn’t do as poorly as one might anticipate.

Nonetheless, fans were taken aback, though many showed their support for the Public Enemy rapper after his performance.
It’s considerably longer than what we’re used to hearing at NBA games. But then again, we shouldn’t have expected anything less from a man who has sported oversized clocks around his neck for most of his life.
In his own words, Flavor Flav expressed, “I can’t live my life worried about what people might say about me. I won’t let that stop me from trying new things and doing what I want to do. Some people might not like that, but the only true failure is when you stop trying.”
Performing the anthem was a long-time bucket list item for him, and he had a blast doing it!
Kudos to you, Flavor Flav.
And I guess the Bucks received some positive attention for it, so props to everyone involved.
