Olympians often face financial challenges, as they reportedly do not receive a salary for competing. According to NBC, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee offers financial rewards of $37,500 for gold medals, $22,500 for silver, and $15,000 for bronze.
The support from individuals like Flavor Flav and Ohanian not only highlights the community’s willingness to help but also underscores the financial difficulties athletes face on their path to representing their country.
