Did the father of former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray know something that we all didn’t about Aaron Hernandez?
On his “Snaps” podcast, Murray talked about when he and his father drove to Gainesville to check out a Florida Gators practice. When Aaron Hernandez took the field, this is what Murray’s father had to say,
“I remember my dad looking at me,” Murray said, remembering the moment they spotted Hernandez.
“He still reminds me to this day of this, saying ‘I don’t know who that kid really is, but if you commit to Florida I don’t think you should hang out with him.’”
My dads reaction to the first time we met Aaron Hernandez at a UF practice ?

Murray’s father added,
“It was just the way he (Hernandez) was interacting with coaches and players. Just that kind of look in his eyes. I remember my dad literally looking at me, saying ‘I’m being dead-ass serious here, Aaron. If you commit to Florida, I don’t think you should get anywhere near that kid.'”
Murray never had to worry about getting close to Aaron Hernandez unless Georgia played Florida because Murray chose to be a Bulldog. While at Georgia, Murray set the record for most passing touchdowns and passing yards in SEC history which still stands today.
Aaron Hernandez was also a pretty good football player in his own right as a tight end for the Gators and later the Patriots in the NFL. He just turned out not to be too great of a guy. We all know what happened with him.
Maybe Murray’s father didn’t predict that Hernandez would become a murderer, but he likely wasn’t too surprised by the path his life took.
